Chemnitz, 14th of August 2009 - MEGWARE focuses on women and keeps highly skilled workers in the region
A few days ago, MEGWARE hired four highly qualified young women, who
will fill the key positions within the company in the future.
Having published the job offer, there had been a lot of applications.
Unexpectedly, nearly all of the applicants were highly skilled young
female specialists. „After the job advertisement we did expect a lot of
things but not what happened then.” says Dirk Viertel, Managing
Director of MEGWARE. It was really difficult to make a decision for one
person and even after various selection rounds no decision could be
taken by the management board. Because of that, not only one employee
was hired, but four. And that is not the end. Further positions will be
filled in August and September.
In the past, MEGWARE has made excellent experiences with women.
Particularly in positions, where getting in contact with clients is an
important part of the work, they can bring in their skills. Being aware
of customer requirements, being authentic, committed and patient are
some of their strengths. Hence, the purchasing as well as the sales
department is run in full responsibility by women. Nevertheless, also
men are welcomed. If they have both, the essential hard and soft
skills, they get an opportunity to start a job within the company.
MEGWARE is aware of the fact, that everybody, who is not getting a job
in Chemnitz, is forced to decide on leaving the region. Because of
that, the strategy was changed and several applicants were hired at the
same time. They want to make a point against the increasing trend of
the migration of young highly skilled specialists. The City of Chemnitz
has a lot to offer, not only a high level of quality of life but also
challenging work positions. MEGWARE would like to save the potential of
high quality professionals for the region.
If all of the companies of Chemnitz and surroundings bethink themselves
of their strengths and trust in the existing potential we can all be
confident and look ahead positive. (jm)
