SlashFive®
SlashFive is a housing system developed by MEGWARE for cluster solutions. These housings, which are optimized for high packaging densities, can hold up to 16 cluster nodes on only 8 height units. With this, a cabinet with a floor space of less than one square metre can be equipped with up to 80 servers and 1920 processor cores. These processors may be either AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon processors.
The servers can be used with commercially available PCI cards. Thus, users can freely choose from all possible network cards for interprocess networks, such as Myrinet, SCI or InfiniBand adapters. Thanks to especially large air inlets at the front side of the housing, an optimal cooling of the individual components and the air conditioning of the entire cabinet system is guaranteed. As a result, users can benefit from the longevity of all components of the total system.
