The Linux Days in Chemnitz are an event centred on Linux and Open
Source. From March 17-18, 2012, with the theme of “Kernel Power and
Renewable Synergies“, the focus is again on hard- and software solutions
for this popular computer operating system.
As in past years, MEGWARE is the event’s sponsor. Visit us at our booth.
In the exhibitor area, we are introducing a High Availability
Virtualisation cluster to you, and will be presenting the LAX cluster
manager as an intuitive and simple management tool for the cluster.
As a foundation for installation, we will demonstrate the traditional
XEN as well as the rapidly developing KVM to visitors. The cluster
serves as a base platform for virtualisation. It makes both the
computing capacity (computer node) and the shared memory (storage node)
available. We can achieve high reliability through clustering. The
cluster can be scaled as needed and allows it to deploy virtual machines
to several cluster nodes. The use ranges from classic server and
desktop virtualisation to terminal solutions and industrial
applications.
Correspondingly, we are hosting a technical lecture on “High
Availability and Virtualisation: the Optimal Combination of Both
Concepts in Modern IT.” The lecture focuses on the fundamentals of high
availability and virtualisation, illustrating possible configurations to
merge both concepts, and gives insight into the newest technologies and
developments in this area. We invite everyone to join our lecture on
18th March 2012, 11am-12am.
