Top500 placement with "Helics"

The Heidelberger Linux Cluster "Helics" was put into operation in 2002 and was ranked number 35 of the world's fastest computing systems.

The first MEGWARE Cluster

In the mid 90s we started with the project planning and production of scalable compute clusters. The first MEGWARE cluster was supplied to the technical university Chemnitz in 2000 and was ranked number 126 in the Top500 list.

Establisment

The success story of MEGWARE has started for almost 30 years. What began with the production of computers in the garage of one of the company's founders on February 1, 1990, developed into a Europe-wide company for high performance computing and IT solutions.

MEGWARE, consisting of nearly 50 well-trained, highly motivated employees, has delivered and installed approximately 1000 high-performance computers to research institutes, universities, and industrial and business customers throughout Europe. Seventy percent of HPC installations are in public areas such as physics, mathematics, biochemistry, and climate and gene research. Industrial customers of MEGWARE mainly come from the automotive industry, where flow, noise and crash are simulated and from the pharmaceutical sector. The service portfolio ranges from competent planning prior to purchase, through production and testing of the complete system to turnkey installation and the desired service and support. MEGWARE has implemented advanced ideas and designed products by outstanding in-house developments of hardware and software that help MEGWARE lead the way in the sector. For a quarter of a century, innovative products such as chassis, PDUs, direct on-chip liquid cooling or clustering management software have been developed.
