Austria gets VSC-5
As the most powerful supercomputer in Austria, the VSC-5 will be available to several universities. Tendered on a Europe-wide scale, MEGWARE was awarded the contract. The VSC-5 is being installed at the Vienna University of Technology in cooperation with the Graz University of Technology, the University of Innsbruck and the BOKU Vienna. The system is largely hot-water-cooled and therefore particularly energy-efficient. With almost 99,000 AMD cores, the new supercomputer will be even more powerful than its predecessor and is expected to go into operation this year.
